Upstander/ ICE watch training
With Monica Hunken
Thursday, June 12th from 6pm to 9pm
WESPAC Office
77 Tarrytown Rd, Suite 2W
White Plains, NY 10607
Learn how to keep yourself and your community safe! We will learn and practice a menu of tactics in de-escalating tense situations, keep calm in a crisis, know your rights in protest and with ICE interactions, support immigrant rights, and discover community resources for support. Upstander intervention, or upstanding, refers to a bystander who chooses to actively intervene in a situation they witness that could potentially be harmful or high-risk, rather than staying silent. Upstanders actively choose to intervene in a variety of situations, including those involving discriminatory or violent behavior.
