Legislative Appointments and Teams
As you can see on the schedule, the bulk of the day will be spent meeting with legislators and other policymakers to discuss parole and make several specific legislative and policy asks. We’re very excited to meet with our representatives and talk to them about the issues.
Participants will be divided into teams, and led by two team leaders. Each team will meet with two or three legislators. Team leaders will guide groups around the Legislative Office Building and help facilitate all of the legislative appointments. We’ll send more info soon about legislative teams, so stay tuned.
To prepare for May 10, please come to our final legislative trainings.
**NYC: Thursday, April 27th, 6:30-8:30pm (location: Room 206 at NYU Law, 40 Washington Square South).**
Albany: Wednesday, April 26th, 6pm-8pm (location: First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany. 405 Washington Avenue, Albany). The training will be a joint training with New York Campaign for Alternatives to Isolated Confinement (CAIC).
After the 27th, we will also have a video of the training for folks who weren’t able to make it in person. Sorry for the delay in getting that out! We’ll have a link for you soon.
There will be free breakfast, lunch and dinner (all with vegan and gluten free options).

Please help us spread the word about May 10! We have three buses coming from NYC and we’d like to fill them all. Send an email to your networks, friends and colleagues. Invite your parents! Invite your neighbors! Tell everyone you know. Please make sure folks formally RSVP either by sending an email to [email protected]com or fill out this FORM. Attached is a flyer for you to use.
