Take on Big Plastic

May 7 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Hi Nada,

Hope you’re doing well. I’m reaching out again to ask you to help us spread the word about our advocacy day in Albany on May 7. Industry is spending hundreds of thousands on special interest lobbyists to kill the Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act because they know this bill is designed to phase out single use plastic packaging, which is extremely profitable for Big Plastic. Plastic is made from oil and gas, so we’re basically going toe-to-toe with the fossil fuel industry, and we need all the grassroots firepower we can get. Can you help spread the word by sharing the advocacy day?

Best,

Alexis

Subject: We need you in Albany on May 7 to take on Big Plastic

Recently, the federal government has abandoned its responsibility to protect our health and the environment, and it is now up to our state government to act.

Right now, we have an amazing opportunity to pass a statewide bill to address the scourge of plastic packaging, slow climate change, save taxpayer dollars by making companies foot the bill to deal with packaging waste, and protect our health by banning 17 toxic chemicals used in packaging like PFAS, lead, phthalates, mercury, BPA, formaldehyde, and more.

Momentum is building but we need your grassroots firepower to pass the Packaging Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act!

Make your voice heard! RSVP now for a fun and inspiring People Over Plastic Rally and Advocacy Day in Albany on Wednesday, May 7.

Join us in Albany to speak directly to your legislators about why we need to end the scourge of plastic packaging and hold polluters accountable for their waste. Don’t worry if you’ve never been to Albany – you will be fully briefed on the bill and supported by a team of experienced grassroots activists. Why this is important to you is what counts!
