Amnesty International Mid-Hudson would like to invite you to our 9th Annual Human Rights Fundraiser Event with live African music performance and demonstration by Amadou Diallo and Family, the film “From Beacon to the Border”, an expert panel, and a silent auction at the Rosendale Theatre, 408 Main St, Rosendale, on May 9th at 6:30 pm.
We will be showing the short documentary “From Beacon to the Border” with the filmmaker Andrea DeGeorge Garbarini as our special guest. The film powerfully raises awareness of immigrants’ issues, immigrants’ rights, and the global refugee crises. There will be a panel of expert speakers including Grannies Respond Valerie Carlisle, For the Many Diana Lopez, Ulster Immigrant Defense Network Father Frank Alagna, Worker Justice Center Renan Salgado, and moderator Amnesty International USA Board of Director Candidate and SUNY New Paltz Professor of Political Science & International Relations Ilgu Ozler.
Funds raised will benefit local organizations serving our communities. Suggested donation $10 – $20+.
