THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 22nd starting at NOON in Bryant Park, and the NYC Climate Emergency Declaration Hearing and Rally on MONDAY, JUNE 24th, NOON, at City Hall.
The governments of the world aren’t moving fast enough on climate change. Here in NYC, we’re in a unique position to do something about it. NYC is a global media capital, so we are going to target the media. We believe that abrupt climate breakdown is the most important story in human history and it’s crazy that the media isn’t reporting on it with the urgency required.
We’re planning a direct action targeted at the media this Saturday, June 22nd, starting at Noon at Bryant Park that will be the biggest of its kind in history. We are hoping you can participate as a supporter or as an arrestee.
Part of Extinction Rebellion’s demands are for the government to tell the truth about the climate crisis. The NYC Government is in the last stretch of doing that, by declaring a climate emergency. Since our direct action at City Hall asking for them to declare a climate emergency, a bill is now progressing, with seven cosponsors. We need you to come support the hearing with a rally on the steps of City Hall on Monday, June 24 at 12pm, prior to the hearing at 1pm. This won’t happen without a large number of people to support, so tell everyone you know to meet you at City Hall!
