NY’s New Energy System: Consumer Choice Will Drive Efficiency & Pricing

March 11, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

New York State’s energy system is in transition, and consumers will be in the driver’s seat. To optimize your direct benefit from the changes, you need to understand the tools and elements of the new system. What is “Community Choice Aggregation” and how will it benefit you as a consumer? How will “Micro grids” increase energy efficiency and reliability (You’ve heard the term “resilience”)? How does “Demand Response Pricing” work, and how will it make us less dependent on centralized energy production? How can your community gain access to substantial efficiency or micro-grid funding? Why is Westchester “Solarizing”, and how can you participate?

Mike Gordon of Joule Assets and Sustainable Westchester’s Energy Committee will explain the changing energy terrain and how we can all participate and benefit from the transformation. Refreshments by Sierra Club at 7:00, program starts at 7:30.
